FAQ

Q: What can I expect?

A: With more than 20 years of industry experience in Brazilian waxing, the friendly team at Bare Beauty are sure to deliver a quick and gentle service.

Our expertise combined with our finest quality waxes and products has seen us tame and maintain thousands of Perth’s finest “beavers”.

You too can experience the sexiness and confidence that comes with one of our signature Bare Beauty Waxes by simply calling (08) 9444 8848 and making an appointment with one of our lovely ladies today.

Q: How long does it take?

A: Each of our highly trained specialists understands that a fast signature Bare Beauty wax makes for a fantastic waxing experience. The reason for our quick hands is to ensure we provide all our clients with the most pain-free and comfortable waxing experience possible.

You can expect a standard waxing session to take around 15 min in the salon, but we always allow for a little extra time. This way we have an opportunity to go through proper aftercare, any questions you may have and make sure there’s no rush out the door.

Q: What about first-time jitters?"

A: For first timers, a brazilian can be a nervous and scary occasion. But rest assured, our experienced technicians will take every care to ensure you will looked after throughout the whole process. Any regular will tell you it gets easier over time. However, if you are nervous or have any questions prior or during your appointment, please let us know. Our skilful technicians all remember the nerves and questions that came along with their first brazilian waxes and are more than happy to answer any questions or queries you may have before, during or after your appointment.

We like to recommend female first timers to book their waxes in several days after their period. During this time, pain tolerance levels are likely to be at their highest, making it the perfect time to receive your first signature Bare Beauty Wax.

Q: Does it hurt?

A: One of the most commonly asked questions when it comes to brazilian waxing, but let us put your mind at ease. With over 15 years of experience in just waxing Brazilians, our expertise and fine quality waxes will have you silky, smooth and confident in no time.

If you have been shaving for a while before your waxing, you may find waxing to be initially slightly more painful. But rest assured, with our years of experience and use of best practices we endeavour to minimise this initial discomfort.

If you still find yourself a little worried, you can take paracetamol half an hour before coming in for your waxing session.

For women, we like to work your waxing session around your monthly period. The best time to wax, especially for a first timer, is 7 days after your period. Waxing during your period is okay, however the pain level experienced may be more elevated. We recommend clients avoid scheduling their waxing for the week before they are due, as during time they are likely experience increased sensitivity which may cause their waxing to be slightly more painful. [/accordion]

Q: How long does the hair need to be before a wax at Bare Beauty?

A: For clients that have been shaving their hair, we recommend booking an appointment for when your hair is at least a half to one centimetre in length. In shaving terms, this is likely to be about two weeks after your last shave. This will ensure the best possible and longest lasting finish as there will be enough hair for the wax to grip onto, giving you a silky smooth finish with no stray hairs left behind.

If a wax is performed on shorter hair, you may notice some hair growing back in about a week. This second stage of hair will normally take a few sessions to fall ‘in sync’ with the growth of other hairs.

Q: Do I need to trim my hair before a wax?

A: At Bare Beauty there is no need to trim the hair prior to your appointment. In some cases, this may in fact cause some damage or trauma to the area by doing this yourself. It’s best to simply leave it to one of our experienced specialists to sort it all out for you.

Q: What is an ingrown hair? How can they be prevented?"

A: Ingrown hairs occur when dead skin cells cover the hair follicle. This traps the new growing hair causing it to grow under the skin. When this happens, the area becomes irritated and bacteria forms a small pimple-like abscess on the skin.

Whilst many salons may try and sell you a variety of products, at Bare Beauty we only recommend a single product, which we stand behind with our own money back guarantee.

We highly recommend the use of Tend Skin 2 days before coming in for a wax. This will not only help minimise pain and discomfort, but help prevent those nasty ingrown hairs. There is no need to exfoliate whilst using Tend Skin, as the product does it all for you.

Q: Do you offer men's waxing services?

A: Of course we do!
We even have our very own male waxing specialist Stacie in-house.

Though many other salons only cater to women, at Bare Beauty Waxing we believe everyone deserves the experience of a quick, comfortable and quality waxing service. It’s our deep understanding of the very different requirements that male waxing services require that allow us to provide all our male clientele with the finest quality waxing services.

Q: Why do men wax?

A: There are many reasons for men to wax.

Many athletes wax to enhance their sporting abilities.  Swimmers and body builders tend to get all their body hair removed to increase their performance, whilst many cyclists wax to as a preventative measure, as hair free skin allows them to heal quicker if they graze or cut their skin.

But this doesn’t mean male waxing is limited to athletes. Many men chose to wax as a personal preference, enjoying the aesthetics, convenience and long lasting results of a professional wax.

There are also many benefits to male waxing:

  • You can enjoy longer lasting results than you will when shaving as the hair it pulled from the roots.
  • Say goodbye to cuts and nicks caused by shaving.
  • Your skin will be less irritated. Unlike shaving which can cause rashes on sensitive skin,
  • A high quality wax using good technique and products will leave your skin feeling soft and smooth.
  • Contrary to popular belief, waxing is not always painful. Performed by a skilled technician waxing can be quite pain free with the proper technique and high quality products.
  • Waxing can save you time. Due to the longer lasting results, no longer will you need to put time aside every day to maintain a clean look.
  • Waxing is fast and convenient.[/list]
